ABOUT US

Welcome to The Urban Ladybug Farm & Homestead - our little slice of paradise nestled in the foothills of Copperopolis, California. What started as a dream of slowing down, living more intentionally, and reconnecting with the land has grown into a thriving micro-farm centered around regenerative practices, sustainability, quality, and a deep love for agriculture and animals.

Here on our Micro-Farm and Homestead, we raise Nigerian Dwarf goats, heritage & rare poultry, ducks, geese, and livestock guardian dogs while practicing regenerative farming methods that work with nature instead of against it. We are deeply committed to creating a closed-loop system on our farm, with a near net-zero approach to kitchen and food waste. Nearly everything is either composted, fed back to our chickens, or shared with our dogs, ensuring very little goes to waste. We also compost all of our animal waste - from our rabbits, goats, chickens, and other livestock - and return those nutrients directly back into our gardens and flower beds as natural fertilizer. Those gardens help feed both our family and our local community while also supporting the beautiful seasonal flowers we grow here on the farm. As the only flower farm located in Copperopolis, we take great pride in cultivating blooms that reflect the beauty and abundance of regenerative agriculture. From hand-milking our goats each day to growing botanicals for our products, everything we create is rooted in care, craftsmanship, and respect for the land we steward.

Our farm is best known for our sourdough made from organic ingredients right here in our Micro-Bakery, fresh flower bouquets that we grow all here on our farm, and handcrafted bath and body products, made in small batches using raw hand-milked goat milk from our own herd and infused and adorned with organic botanicals grown right here on our farm. We carefully formulate each product with certified organic oils and butters, and our organically grown herbs and flowers like lavender, calendula, and rose, and ingredients we feel proud to use on our own family. You’ll never find parabens, sulfates, phthalates, harsh chemicals, or unnecessary fillers here - only thoughtfully crafted products inspired by the simple beauty of homestead living. You can shop all of our products on our Online Farmstand, shipping to all 50 US states!

In the last year, we’ve also become known locally for our weekend farm stand, where we offer a beautiful selection of our farm goods alongside fresh baked sourdough bread and seasonal fresh-cut flowers and fresh produce grown right here on the homestead. The farm stand has become one of our favorite ways to connect with our community and share the fruits of our labor directly with the people who support our farm.

Beyond our products, The Urban Ladybug Farm is also a place for education, storytelling, and community. Through our social media platforms and on-farm experiences, we share the realities of modern homesteading - the messy moments, the beautiful moments, and everything in between. Whether it’s bottle-feeding baby goats, hatching specialty chickens, tending the garden, or teaching others about regenerative farming, our mission is to inspire people to reconnect with where their food and products come from.

At the heart of it all is family. While agriculture is now at the center of our lives, neither of us grew up deeply rooted in farming. Kyle spent a short time living on a pig farm as a child before growing up primarily in town. I spent much of my childhood moving from place to place as a military kid while my father served in the United States Army. After 22 years of service, he retired and our family settled in Oakdale, California, where Kyle and I first met in junior high.

Although we knew each other for years, we didn’t begin dating until after high school when we were both 19 years old. Today, after more than 25 years of friendship, nearly 18 years together, and 8 years of marriage, we are building a life that neither of us could have ever imagined.

We started our homesteading journey in 2014, quickly documenting it all via Social Media, all while falling deeply in love with the lifestyle. Wanting to expand far past our limitations in town, we decided to sell our small urban homestead and move out to the country and in 2018 we bought our Home on Land our here in Copperopolis. In recent years, we made the decision to expand our family and welcomed our two beautiful daughters, who have quickly become the heart of everything we do. Much of what we are building today is for them. We want them to grow up surrounded by animals, nature, hard work, and the values that come from creating something with your own hands.

Along the way, we’ve built and grown multiple successful businesses and brands across different industries. In addition to running the farm, Kyle owns and operates his own irrigation business, CopperDripWerks.com while I work full-time for an agricultural lending company. Life often requires a tremendous amount of time management and not a whole lot of sleep, but we know the sacrifices are worth it as we continue building this dream and growing our farm business toward the vision we have for its future.

Everything we do is rooted in creating something truly sustainable for our children, a legacy they can one day carry forward, whether through continuing the farm and businesses we’ve built or using that foundation as a springboard to pursue their own passions and dreams. Every order placed, every post shared, and every person who supports our farm helps us continue building a life centered around sustainability, transparency, family, and creating something meaningful from the ground up.
